- File a police report with local authorities
- Contact your financial institution for protective measures
- Submit a report to the FBI Internet Crime Compliant Center at www.IC3.gov
If your identity was stolen:
- File a police report with your local authorities
- Report it to the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov)
- Notify your financial institution
- Notify the three credit bureaus and request a freeze or a security notice on your profile
